Obituary: Christman, Frances Elizabeth

Age 92

CHRISTMAN, Frances Elizabeth (Age 92) Fran was born March 31, 1920 in Billings, Montana to Jordan and Rosalie Webber.

She passed away February 26, 2013 in Spokane Valley, Washington.

Fran was raised on a farm outside Bridger, Montana.

She graduated from Bridger High School where she enjoyed journalism and sports.

Fran met Clem Christman, her husband of 55 years in 1939.

They moved to Spokane a few years later.

She was the Executive Secretary for Jacklin Seed Company for 25 years.

Fran was active in Saint Mary’s Parish throughout her life.

She gave countless hours to various volunteer organizations, including Sacred Heart Medical Center Service League (30 years), Valley Hospital and Medical Center Auxiliary (15 years), and as a Girl Scout Leader.

Fran had a wonderful voice and enjoyed singing in church choirs as much as she enjoyed singing around the house.

She was an avid reader and passed her passion for books on to her children.

Her love of Loon Lake also became a family tradition.

Fran was preceded in death by her husband, Clem Christman.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Nadeau (Phill), and Roxana Christman; a son, Michael Christman; grandson Paul Nadeau; granddaughter Caryn McLellan (Scott); great-grandchildren, Roslyn and Evyn.

A viewing will be held at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church Friday, March 1, 2013 12:00 pm followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm.

Fran’s family sends a special thank you to the dedicated staff of Sullivan Park Assisted Living who loved her as their own these past four years.
