Obituary: Eickstadt, Raymond P.
Age 85
EICKSTADT, Raymond P. Ray passed away February 23, 2013 with family at his side. He was born July 18, 1927 in Mahnomen, MN, one of eleven children to Fred and Mary Eickstadt. He served proudly in the US Navy during WWII. Ray married the love of his life, Marie Welle, in 1948. They moved to Spokane in 1951, where he worked for and retired from Kaiser Mead after 30 years. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ray was an excellent craftsman who built the cabin at Waitts Lake and remodeled homes. Dad was preceded in death by …

He served proudly in the US Navy during WWII. Ray married the love of his life, Marie Welle, in 1948. They moved to Spokane in 1951, where he worked for and retired from Kaiser Mead after 30 years. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ray was an excellent craftsman who built the cabin at Waitts Lake and remodeled homes. Dad was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marie, 5 1/2 years ago. Since that time, his daughter Susan has provided daily care which allowed him to stay in his own home until his passing. Dad is survived by his children, Susan (Gary), Joe (Ann), Raymond, Michael (Kathleen); grandchildren, Derek, Melissa, Amanda, Christoper, Grant, Lisa; three great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandaughter; and his siblings Shortie, Bob, Annie, and Clara. Dad is now in Heavenly Peace with mom. A Memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the chapel at Holy Cross Cemetery.
