Obituary: Volland, Ellen Maxine
Age 84
She was born November 1, 1928 in Forman, ND, to Hirman Johnson and Leonora Ferguson.
She was married to Kenneth M Volland May 25, 1951.
They farmed on the family farm in Oakes, ND until they moved to Spokane in 1955.
Ellen was a homemaker and raised one daughter Linda M. Brant.
Ellen enjoyed bowling and was a member of several bowling leagues at Imperial Lanes.
Ellen and Ken also enjoyed snowmobiling in the winter and camping in the summer.
After retirement, they became snowbirds in Apache Junction, AZ.
They would return to Spokane to spend the summers with their grandchildren.
Even after Ken’s death in 1998, Ellen returned to Apache Junction to stay away from the snow.
She lived in her home until 2010 when she moved to Royal Plaza Retirement Home.
She enjoyed playing bingo and watching the Wii bowling games.
She is survived by her daughter Linda (Tony) Brant, granddaughter Claudine “DeeDee” (Joseph) Reinstein, their children Jeremy, Jared, and Lauren of Fountain, CO, granddaughter Jennifer Nevdahl and her daughter Abigail of Fountain, CO, granddaughter Leslie (Nicholas) Eimer and son Quinncy of Colorado Springs, CO, grandson Tony Brant and his sons Zachary and Thomas.
Ellen has one surviving sister Dorothy Housh of Fargo, ND and many nieces and nephews.
