GALBRAITH, Betty (Age 82) Betty Galbraith of Spokane passed away December 28, 2012. Betty was born on February 23, 1930, in Tipton, MO to John and Olga Monks. She spent much of her working career as a medical records supervisor with the Spokane Veterans Administration Hospital. After leaving the VA, she became a travel agent because of her love of travel. She and her second husband, Don, traveled around the world. She also enjoyed taking friends and family on time share trips. Betty was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. GALBRAITH, Betty (Age 82) Betty Galbraith of Spokane passed away December 28, 2012. Betty was born on February 23, 1930, in Tipton, MO to John and Olga Monks. She spent much of her working career as a medical records supervisor with the Spokane Veterans Administration Hospital. After leaving the VA, she became a travel agent because of her love of travel. She and her second husband, Don, traveled around the world. She also enjoyed taking friends and family on time share trips. Betty was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She became a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority in 1968 and belonged to the Alpha Chi Master chapter. Another favorite activity was having fun at the casino where she spent many hours. She stayed active until her illness, bowling three days a week in league play at Lilac Lanes. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald Galbraith, and her sister, Lois Monks. Left behind to treasure her in their memories are her daughter Janet (Shumate) Kenley of Liberty Lake, WA; stepson Bryan (Carla) Galbraith of Wilsonville, OR; stepdaughter Melinda McLucas of Vancouver, WA; grandchildren Karen (David) Long, Jason (Hayley Stewart) Kenley, Megan (Matt) Scoville, Travis (Lindsey) Galbraith, Jordan Galbraith, and great-grandchildren Ryan Scoville and Mya Kenley. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Spokane or your favorite charity. We would like to thank her friends and family for their support on her journey. A Memorial Service will be held at Sunset Chapel inside Fairmount Memorial Park, at 5200 W. Wellesley on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00 am with a reception to follow.
