Obituary: Lavelle, Mary Lou
Age 86
She was born December 8, 1926 in Harrington, WA, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Shields) Huber.
Mary Lou attended Harrington High School and then graduated from Marycliff High School in Spokane.
She graduated Sacred Heart School of Nursing in 1947 and worked as a registered nurse for over 35 years.
She had a passion for quilting and needlework.
Her family is grateful for all the treasured items she has left for them, including many quilts and cross stitched items.
Her family wishes to thank the staff at Cornerstone Court for the care they provided Mary Lou.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years Bob Lavelle in 2010 and her four year old brother Edward Huber.
She is survived by her children Loretta (Scott) Thompson, Jeanne (Terry) Leaf and Mike (Sue) Lavelle, all of Spokane; her sister Dolores (Steve) Witt of Spokane; seven grandchildren Kellie, Jill, Shannon, Stacey, Erik, Kristin and Kelsey; four great-grandsons Collin, Gabriel, Tyler and Blake; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, January 4, 2013 at 11am and will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 505 W. St. Thomas More Way, Spokane.
Private inurnment will take place at Harrington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 910 W. 5th Ave., Ste 256, Spokane, WA 99204.
