Just say Merry Christmas

At work, I wear a white lab coat with the sleeves pushed up, making my red and green rubber “Just Say ‘Merry Christmas’ ” bracelet prominent. The bracelet from Operation Just Say “Merry Christmas” is a reminder in favor of using this greeting rather than the politically correct Happy Holidays, Season’s Greetings, or other bunk.

Many people ask me why I am wearing this now that Dec. 25 has passed. In our community, the custom is to quickly stop playing Christmas music and put away the decorations just when the Christmas season arrives. The 12 days of Christmas are not 12 days before Dec. 25, but begin with Christmas and continue until Epiphany, Jan. 6.

Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Free Shipping Day have passed. Let’s sing some carols and have a Merry Christmas.
