Obituary: Teal, Caroline T.

Age 82

TEAL, Caroline T. (Age 82) Passed away December 30, 2012 at Avalon Care Center in Spokane, Washington after a short battle with cancer.

Caroline was born in Spokane, Washington March 5, 1930 to John P. DePonty and Esther R. DePonty (Gruel).

She attended local elementary schools and John Rogers High School.

Working at a variety of local department stores, Caroline accepted a career position at Deaconess Medical Center where she retired in 1996 as a medical secretary.

She married Richard Gordon and had a son, Bud Richard Gordon, in 1950.

After a divorce, she later married John Teal and had a second son, John Edward Teal Jr. raising the two boys and two stepdaughters, Nancy and Kathy.

Caroline enjoyed bowling and dancing in her early years, and later in life devoted much of her time to her eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Caroline is survived by two sisters, Rita Hall in Spokane, and Jeanette Starke in Oak Harbor; her son Bud and wife Kathy; two stepdaughters, seven of her grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her father, John, mother Esther, three sisters, two brothers, and her son, John.

Caroline will be placed with her mother at Riverside Memorial Park.

A memorial service will be held in the spring.
