University of Washington’s Chris Williams, the top-ranked amateur in the world, shot a 2-under 70 to lead Team USA’s surge up the leaderboard Saturday at the Cope de las Americas at TPC Blue Monster Course at Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami.

Williams finished with a 15-foot birdie on the par-4 18th, and Team USA shot a 291 for the third round, the lowest team score.

The United States is tied with Mexico for second place at 24-over 288, five shots behind Canada.
