Obituary: Weiner, Eleanor Ruth

WEINER, Eleanor Ruth (Age 94) August 20, 1918 to January 6, 2013 The Spokane Jewish community is saddened at the passing of Eleanor Ruth Weiner, January 6th.

Eleanor was a life long resident of Spokane having attending Irving Grade School and graduating from Lewis and Clark High School.

She married Phillip Weiner in 1945 after he returned from from European battle front of WWII.

The Weiner Grocery Store on West 3rd Avenue became a family business and Eleanor worked there for many years alongside Phillip and other family members.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, sisters Claire Engler, Blanche Aach, and Selma Holtzberg, and her nephew Bernard Stertzer.

Surviving nieces and nephews are: Barbara and George Andreini, Marvin Holtzberg, Richard and Janet Aach, Marilyn Levy, Charles Engler, and Melvin Weiner.

A Funeral Service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 9th, 11:00am, Rabbi Michael Goldstein presiding.

A grave side service will follow at Mt.

Nebo Cemetery.
