SCOTT, Larry A.

(Age 63) Larry Allen Scott passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 surrounded by his family at the Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene.

Larry was born in Bentonville, Arkansas on December 11, 1949 to Melvin and Ruth Scott.

Larry grew up in Kelso, with his three brothers and one sister.

He graduated from Kelso High School in 1969.

Larry was drafted into the Army in 1970 and deployed to Vietnam.

He was in the 101st Airborne.

One year later he was sent home.

In 1973, Larry married Ellen Marian.

Together they had three children.

He went on to continue his military service with the 104th training division where he worked up to the position of SFCE7.

He also attended SCC where he earned a career in trucking.

Larry divorced in 1999 and married Janet Sovereign in July 2001.

He moved from Spokane to Hayden and started a new life with Janet.

In December 2000, he was diagnosed with cancer.

In 2006, his condition advanced to level four and he was told he could not continuing working.

During the past six years, Larry has enjoyed traveling, car shows, camping, boating, fishing and sewing.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Scott; his father and mother, Melvin and Ruth Scott; his two daughters, Danielle Scott and Kate Scott; one son, Ken Scott (Amanda); one stepdaughter, Kristine Sovereign Morier (Justin); one stepson, Ken Sovereign (Heather); and two step-granddaughters, Celine Urbin and Kiana Urbin.

He is also survived by his brothers, Ken Scott (Linda), Doug Scott (Shirley), and Lonnie Scott (Annie); his sisters, Karen Ferrell, and Ruthann Hulme Crawford (Rick).

He is survived by several aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-8pm Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Lake City Community Church in Coeur d’Alene.
