COMING UP: Tonight vs. Denver, 7:05; Saturday vs. N.M. St., 7:05 p.m.
OUTLOOK: Five teams in the WAC, half of the remade league, are unbeaten or have one loss in conference play. That includes Idaho and Denver, who meet tonight at the Cowan Spectrum for the first time since 1966. The Pioneers are in their first (and only) year in the conference after finishing second in the Sun Belt last year. On July 1, they’ll move to the Summit League. Denver beat Texas State 64-53 and UTSA 75-50 at home last week after splitting its season-opening trips at LA Tech, 60-68, and UT Arlington, 50-35. Like Idaho, NMSU has hovered below or at .500 all season.
