Pullman man arrested for attempted rape

From staff reports
Pullman police arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of attempted rape early this morning. Police responded to the attack in the 300 block of NE Maple Street at 1:23 a.m. and arrested Alexander Lee Jeung on suspicion of second-degree attempted rape, indecent liberties and fourth-degree assault. The 19-year-old female victim told police she was walking home when she noticed she was being followed. Police allege Jeung tackled her and then fondled her. She screamed and her attacker fled on foot, police said. A witness who heard the scream called 911 and gave officers a description of the man. Officers spotted Jeung, who matched the description, on foot several blocks away and arrested him. The victim was treated for minor facial injuries at Pullman Regional Hospital.
