Obituary: Bogar, Darrell Arthur

BOGAR, Darrell Arthur 88 Years of Life A former longtime resident of Spokane, a resident of Deer Park, Washington and recently of Sedro Woolley, Washington, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013.

He is the dear father and father-in-law, of Becky and Dick Ferguson of Port Orchard, Washington, Susan and John Schmidt of Clayton, Washington, and Julia and Victor Burgliera of Sedro Woolley, Washington.

His daughter-in-law, Stacey Bogar, resides in Spokane.

Darrell enjoyed twenty grandchildren and thirty two great-grandchildren.

He has been preceded in death by his dear wife, Janet Bogar, and his son, John Bogar.

His sister, Audrey Trusty, lives in Chattaroy, Washington.

Born in 1924 in Moscow, Idaho, Darrell attended grade school, high school and college.

During World War II, he served with the United States Navy participating in the landing at Normandy in the European Theatre and in the South Pacific Theatre.

He was a stationary engineer for many years at Fairchild Air Force Base.

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he attended the Clayton Ward, was a former Bishop of the Second Ward in Spokane, and had served as Branch President while in Okinawa.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Helena, Montana, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and a Shriner.

Funeral Services honoring Mr. Bogar, will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Riverside Chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Chattaroy, Washington, with Bishop Bryon Wiltse conducting.

Military Honors and Flag Presentation will be by the United States Navy Honor Guard.

Interment will be in the Union Cemetery at Sedro Woolley, Washington.
