A lifetime resident, Mr. Kivett passed away Tuesday morning.
Glen accomplished various feats in his life including owning and driving midget race cars during the late 40’s and early 50’s, a licensed small craft pilot, and an avid fisherman and hunter.
Glen was a leader in the fight to save the Snake River drainage as a member of the Association of Northwest Steelheaders and Trout Unlimited.
He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited, the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Knights of Columbus.
His largest contribution to the community was employment and shared ownership of Dickerson Pump and Irrigation Company from 1952 to its sale in 1986, providing water for irrigation and municipal use throughout the Inland Northwest.
Glen is survived by wife Barbara, sons Shawn and Barry Kivett, daughters Jeannie Mors and Colleen Bair, sisters Phyllis Forster and Dolores Lashbrook both of Spokane and Carol Petragallo of Portland, Oregon, numerous nieces and nephews, and nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Contributions can be made to Gonzaga Preparatory School Fair Share Tuition Program.
Family would appreciate if you would come celebrate with us.
Mass Services will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in the Spokane Valley, January 15, 2013 at 1:00 P.M.
