MacNeill, Scott B.

Passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at his home in Spokane, WA.

Scott was born August 24, 1956 in Chicago, Ill, to Dr. Charles and Patricia MacNeill.

At age three the family moved to Spokane and Scott lived in the northwest the remainder of his life.

He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Grade School and Gonzaga Preparatory School, graduating in 1974.

He studied at Gonzaga University for a time but eventually found enjoyment as a painter.

At one time he opened his own business Accents Unlimited.

Prior to being diagnosed with throat cancer, Scott worked for Greenstone Homes.

In recent years, Scott was a volunteer at Spokane Valley Partners food bank and also spent innumerous hours ‘dog sitting’ for family and friends.

Scott was happiest in the company of his canine friends.

He also loved fishing, science fiction and playing darts.

Preceded in death by his father, Charles G. MacNeill, MD; sister, Mary Austin, and nephew, Kevin Austin.

Survived by his mother, Patricia MacNeill, of Spokane, brother, Bruce (Nancy) MacNeill of Seattle and sisters, Kathleen (George) Sarrica of Eugene, Ore., Eileen (Robert) Walker of Spokane, and Susan (Peter) Lichtenberg of Farmington, MI.

Also survived by nieces and nephews; Aileen, Kelsey, Christopher, Charles, Griffin, Bryce, Henry, Emily, Thomas, and Sophie.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12 at St. Joseph’s Parish, 4521 N. Arden Road, Otis Orchards WA 99027.

Private inurnment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Spokane Valley Partners or Spokane County Regional Animal Protection.
