Spokane’s warming centers open tonight

The city of Spokane’s warming centers will open today at 8 p.m. due to forecasts predicting temperatures dropping below 15 degrees. Warming centers are opened to the city’s homeless population when shelters serving the target population are at capacity. The sites are not set up for lodging, but will be open from 8 p.m. tonight until 7 a.m. Saturday, a news release from the city said. The following warming centers will be open:
  • First Covenant Church, 212 S. Division Street, single adult men
  • The Salvation Army, 222 E. Indiana Ave., families with children and couples
  • Hope House, 111 W. Third Ave., single adult women
