Leaving Alabama tailback Eddie Lacy, cornerback Dee Milliner and right tackle D.J. Fluker are entering the NFL draft. Lacy and Milliner announced their plans to skip their senior seasons Friday at a news conference. Coach Nick Saban said Fluker couldn’t be there but made the same decision.

• Texas defensive tackle Brandon Moore is also skipping his senior year to enter the draft.

Transferring Iowa State quarterback Jared Barnett, who went from the starter to a third-stringer in just over two months, has decided to leave after two seasons. Barnett led the Cyclones to the biggest win in school history in 2011, throwing for 376 yards in a win over then-No. 2 Oklahoma State.

Approved The Nevada state Board of Regents has approved a five-year contract with new Nevada football coach Brian Polian, a recent Texas A&M assistant coach, worth a total of more than $2.8 million.

Charged Former Los Angeles Dodgers and Seattle Mariners outfielder Milton Bradley has been charged with abusing his estranged wife and faces up to 13 years in jail if convicted. Los Angeles city prosecutors charged Bradley on Thursday with 13 misdemeanor counts, including assault with a deadly weapon. Prosecutors contend he threatened and assaulted his wife at least five times in 2011 and last year. Bradley’s attorney, Harland Braun, says his client denies the charges and contends that his wife made up the allegations.

Added Argentinian midfielder Diego Valeri, is coming to the Portland Timbers as the team’s third designated player. Valeri joins Portland on loan from Club Atlitico Lanzs of Argentina’s first-division.

Signed Former major league outfielder Kosuke Fukudome has returned to Japan where he will play for the Hanshin Tigers of the Central League. The 35-year-old signed a three-year deal with the Tigers after spending five productive seasons with the Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox.

Died French motorcyclist Thomas Bourgin, 25, was killed in the Dakar Rally when he collided with a Chilean police car. Race officials said the incident occurred as Bourgin was traveling to the start of the seventh stage in Argentina on Friday.
