Obituary: Cogswell, Darrel

Age 69

COGSWELL, Darrel Wayne (Age 69) Passed away suddenly, on December 24, 2012 at the home in Medical Lake doing what he loved, snow blowing.

Darrel was a third generation Master-Mason and a life time member of the Medical Lake Masonic Lodge #102.

He was Master twice, and secretary, for twenty plus years.

Darrel was on the Grand Lodge Team of Washington State for several years, a life-time member of the Scottish Rite, Eastern Washington Lodge of Research.

Darrel was also a life- time member of the Espanola Grange, and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Medical Lake.

He was past president of the Maintenance Association at Spokane International Airport .

Retiring in 2006, after working for 30 years at S.I.A., he spent his mornings at Lindabee’s Diner in Medical Lake drinking coffee with friends, caring for the lodge hall and spending time with his four granddaughters.

Darrel is survived by his wife Jackie, of 38 years, daughter Christina, (Tacoma), son Russel and daughter-in-law Paula and four wonderful, kind, sweet, loving granddaughters McKayla 21, Justyce 13, Jenavieve 11, and Grayson 9 all of Medical Lake, brothers and spouses Warren and Judy Cogswell (Ritzville), James and Patsy Cogswell (Clear Lake), and sister Janice and Walter Radmer ( Espanola) and ten nieces and nephews.

Darrel has left us too soon but with lots of wonderful memories.

Jenavieve summed it up saying, “Grayson lost her “Best Buddie,”as many of us did.

He will be greatly missed by all his family, friends, and Masonic Lodge Brethren.

A celebration of Darrel’s life will be held at the Medical Lake Lodge Hall, 620 N Stanly St. Medical Lake WA 99022, Saturday January 19, 2013 from 2-6 pm with an open house and pot luck dinner.

Salads and desserts are requested.

Donations may be made in Darrel’s name to the American Heart Assoc.
