Obituary: House, Tony

HOUSE, Tony Tony House, a member of St. Michael’s Parish, died a Catholic death on January 1, 2013 from complications of heart surgery.

He was surrounded by his loving family.

Tony was born in Challis, ID in 1937 the 2nd of 6 children.

He spent four years in the Marine Corp.

He was captain of the Judo Team placing 2nd in the All Marine Corp Judo Tournament.

He married Clare Bunch on August 8, 1959 in Long Beach, CA.

His diverse career in the computer industry took the family from L.A. where he worked for N. American Aviation, to Tulsa, OK with American Airlines, followed by Harrah’s in Reno, NV, ending up in Spokane, WA with Keytronic and Analyst Int’l.

His hobbies included snow skiing, duplicate bridge, volleyball, traveling, golfing and garage saling.

Tony was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and the Mt.

Rose 1st Aid Dept.

For the last several years he spent many hours with his best friends, as a SCOPE volunteer with the Spokane Sheriff’s Office.

Above all, his biggest joy was spending time with his family!

Tony is survived by his bride of 53 years, Clare and seven children, Chris Knight (Tim), Mick Teich (Tim), Shelly Johnson (Ron), Tony II (Becky), Lorrie Ochoa (Rene), Joanna Gilchrist (Simon), and Andy (Tara); 52 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

We will all miss his cheery smile, infectious laugh, whistling, piano playing and larger than life personality!

God, thank you for the gift of Tony House!!

Tony was laid to rest at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Spokane, WA on January 4, 2013.
