Obituary: Ingle, Rose M.

Age 90

INGLE, Rose M. (Age 90) Rose Ingle, born on September 4, 1922 to Polish Catholic immigrants Walter and Dominica Dochod in Grand Rapids Michigan, passed away on January 5, 2013 at Royal Park Care Center in the presence of her devoted daughter Kathy.

She went to Her Lord with the comfort of her mother’s rosary.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Joseph (Florence) Dochod and two sisters Mrs. Dennis G. (Josephine) Irwin and Mrs Joseph (Victoria) Huben, her second husband Fred Ingle, and her daughter Louise Miller.

She is survived by her five other children Richard (Janice) Walters, Kathy Brunner, James Walters, and Jerry (Karen) Walters, all of Spokane, Washington and Mike (Lynn) Walters of Sandpoint, Idaho along with fourteen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Rose grew up in an austere environment going into the great depression, suffering hardships and learning to be self-reliant at an early age.

She met Marvin C. Walters, any army weatherman, in Grand Rapids, married in 1943 and moved to Spokane in 1946 where they raised six children.

Marvin retired after 30 years as a meteorologist with the United States Weather Bureau and also preceded Rose in death.

Rose was employed for more than 55 years in Spokane as a cashier in the grocery and restaurant/lounge industry.

She was a sprightly strong willed person with a sense of humor who enjoyed greeting the public, and especially lately all her good friends at Lilac Plaza retirement home.

Rose was a longtime member of the Eagles Lodge of north Spokane where she ardently played bingo and passionately engaged in polka dancing.

Her other favorite activities were cooking Polish cuisine, flower gardening, lake fishing, and gambling junkets to Las Vegas.

She had a notable enthusiasm for rescuing and caring for stray and distressed animals and supporting the local Humane Society.

Friends and family will miss the exciting times prompted by her life style.

At her request, there will be no memorial services.
