Obituary: Mcpherson, Gerald A.
(Age 65) Jerry was born April 1, 1947 in Moscow ID.
He grew up in Elk, WA, attended Elk Grade School and Riverside High School, graduating in 1965.
He went to S.C.C.
and E.W.U.
before and after joining the U.S. Air Force - Air Intelligence in 1967 - 1972.
He worked for Columbia Lighting for a time.
Then for Nordstrom (Spokane, WA); in Vancouver, WA, Portland, OR, area and in Fremont, CA.
working his way up to Distribution Center Manager.
After 20 plus years, he retired to Oakland, CA for a few years, then to Palm Springs, CA for the last three years.
Jerry passed away January 1, 2013, after a lengthy battle with cancer, surgery and radiation.
Jerry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jerry loved traveling, museums, cultural centers and the arts.
He was very health-oriented, vegan diet, ran, walked, hiked, always staying active.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Cherry “Mac” McPherson and his mother, Lillian “Lil” McPherson.
His son, Michael McPherson (Kirkland, WA); sister, Audrey Burdett (Spokane, WA); brother, Ron McPherson, wife, Judy (Sequim, WA); sister, Judy Olin (Lake Oswego, OR); aunt, Lorene McPherson (Spokane, WA); aunt, Edythe Phipps, (Seattle, WA), half-uncle Darwin McKinney; wife, Pat (Federal Way, WA); numerous cousins, a niece, nephews and great friends.
There will be a celebration of life with family and friends in Palm Springs, CA at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to a local hospice would be greatly appreciated.
