Bike Hub plans second location

The Bike Hub will open its second Spokane store at 1405 W. First Ave., in the space vacated by Two Wheel Transit, which moved to the South Perry District.

Bike Hub expects to open the new store on March 1.

The first Bike Hub store has operated in Spokane Valley for nearly four years. Owner Chris Andreasen decided the time was right to add a new shop near downtown, said Valley manager Morgan Johnson.

Johnson said Bike Hub is remodeling the store, which comes to about 6,000 square feet including the basement and main floor.

Plans are to operate six days a week, Johnson said.

Fire Artisan Pizza comes to Spokane

The owners of Coeur d’Alene’s Fire Artisan Pizza will open a downtown Spokane eatery with the same name.

The new business is moving into the former Moxie, at 806 W. Sprague Ave. Co-owner Paul Cartee said the goal is opening the week of Jan. 21.

Crews are completing extensive remodeling and workers are being trained at the Coeur d’Alene location.

Cartee said the improvements will change the appearance of the restaurant “totally.” Seating will be either at a counter or at a number of tables. Capacity will be around 45 seats.

The two other partners in the business are Doug Johnson and John Cardosa.

Sephora to open shop in RPS

Sephora, a national retailer of beauty care products, will move into part of a second-floor vacant space at River Park Square in downtown Spokane.

It’s taking less than half of the 8,000 square feet previously occupied by Abercrombie & Fitch, which moved in January 2011.

Sephora plans to open the store in the spring, according to a River Park Square Facebook post.

Sephora will continue two smaller operations inside J.C. Penney stores at NorthTown and Spokane Valley malls.

Cowles Co., which operates The Spokesman-Review, also owns River Park Square.
