LRS takes over sole possession of second place

Dylan Hartz made three 3-pointers and all seven of his free-throw attempts and finished with 20 points and six assists as Lind-Ritzville/Sprague took over sole possession of second place in the Northeast 2B League with a 60-46 win over Northwest Christian Saturday in Ritzville.

The Broncos made 11 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter and outscored the Crusaders 19-9 to seal the win.

Ryan Whitmore added 11 points and 11 rebounds for Lind-Ritzville/Sprague (13-2, 7-2).

Northwest Christian (11-4, 6-3) was led by Jonathan Morris, who scored 12 points.

St. George’s 63, Liberty 46: Dexter Sienko and Mark Kenney scored 16 points apiece as the Dragons (14-1, 9-0) beat the visiting Lancers (7-8, 3-6). Erik Muelheims added 14 points and six assists for St. George’s, which led by 25 points entering the fourth quarter. Ryan Thayer had 17 points and Match Burnham added 12 points and 11 boards for Liberty.

Reardan 69, Springdale 31: Nick Brockman scored 16 points and Daniel Peone added 12 as the Indians (4-11, 2-7) beat the visiting Chargers (0-15, 0-9). Kris Peters tallied a team-high eight points for Springdale.

Colfax 57, Davenport 49: Brandon Gfeller made 9 of 12 free throws and finished with 25 points and nine rebounds as the Bulldogs (11-4, 6-3) beat the visiting Gorillas (7-8, 2-7). Keith Gfeller added 15 points and six boards for Colfax. Connor Van Pevenage led three Davenport players in double figures with 17 points.

Great Northern League

Pullman 49, Clarkston 44: The Greyhounds made their free throws late in the fourth and kept their perfect Great Northern League record intact with a win over the host Bantams (8-4, 2-2).

A.J. Miles made a 3-pointer with 2 minutes left to give Pullman (12-1, 4-0) a one-point lead and the Greyhounds expanded their lead with free throws.

Corey Langerveld tallied a game-high 15 points for Pullman.

East Valley 51, West Valley 44: James Brown made all eight of his free-throw attempts and finished with 33 points and 10 rebounds as the Knights (7-6, 3-2) upset the visiting Eagles (9-3, 2-2). J.T. Phelan added 11 rebounds for East Valley. West Valley was led by Jake Love’s 16 points.

Cheney 56, Colville 47: The Blackhawks (7-5, 3-2) ended the game on a 12-3 run and beat the host Indians (5-7, 1-3). H.D. Wyborney scored eight of his game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter for Cheney. Matt Hubbard and Tevyn Holling combined for 21 points for Colville.

Inland Empire 4A

Moscow 73, Sandpoint 33: Nick Ellison led three players in double figures with 17 points and the Bears (7-4, 2-0) walloped the host Bulldogs (2-11, 0-1). Jack Akey made four 3-pointers and chipped in 16 points for Moscow, which outscored Sandpoint 22-2 in the final quarter.

Intermountain

Kellogg 55, Priest River 43: Garret Wendt led four players in double figures with 14 points as the Wildcats (8-4, 2-1) pulled away in the second half and beat the visiting Spartans (5-7, 0-2). Jessie Lambert scored 11 points and Taylor Bircher added 10 points and 11 rebounds for Kellogg, which outscored Priest River 55-43 in the second half.

The Spartans were led by Dalton Sommer’s 17 points.

Northeast 1B North

Selkirk 55, Northport 39: Dominic Cain scored 19 points and Avery Miller added 18 points and 16 rebounds as the Rangers (10-3, 7-1) expanded their lead in the fourth and beat the visiting Mustangs (7-5, 4-4). Northport was led by Jeremiah Johnson’s 19 points.

Curlew 55, Columbia 35: Dalton Drennan scored 16 points as the Cougars (5-7, 3-4) came alive after halftime and beat the visiting Lions (0-14, 0-9). Doug Herrmann added eight points and 12 rebounds for Curlew, which outscored Columbia 34-16 in the second half. Dustin Wyborney had 16 points and eight rebounds for the Lions.

Cusick 85, Inchelium 41: Ryan Sample and Alec Bluff scored 18 points apiece as the Panthers (13-2, 9-0) dumped the visiting Hornets (1-8, 1-6). Quentin Holford tallied a team-high 10 points for Inchelium.

Northeast 1B South

Odessa-Harrington 59, Wilbur-Creston 58: Stetson Sanford hit a shot with less than a second to play and the Titans (9-6, 3-2) escaped with a win over the visiting Wildcats (7-7, 2-3). Cade Weber had 17 points and six assists for Odessa-Harrington. Wilbur-Creston was led by Nick Densely and Dorian Jaeger, who combined for 32 points.

Wellpinit 77, St. Michael’s 37: Brodie Ford scored 22 points and A.J. Kieffer added 15 as the Redskins (12-3, 5-0) overwhelmed the host Warriors (1-12, 0-5). St. Michael’s was led by Gabe Durazo’s 11 points.

Southeast 1B

Pomeroy 51, St. John-Endicott 50: The Pirates (11-2, 8-2) came alive after halftime and edged the visiting Eagles (2-12, 2-8). Kaleb Simon scored 18 points and Sam Raynor added 13 for St. John-Endicott. The teams combined to hit 18 3-pointers.

Rosalia 45, Touchet 30: Craig Nelson connected on 7 of 13 shots, including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc, and the Spartans (8-6, 6-4) topped the visiting Indians (2-6, 2-6). Micah Pittsley added 10 points for Rosalia.

Garfield-Palouse 62, Liberty Christian 31: Jesse Lopez had 18 points, six rebounds and five assists to lead the Vikings (11-3, 8-2) past the visiting Patriots (2-7, 2-7). Mitch Jamison added 11 for Garfield-Palouse, which outscored Liberty Christian 34-10 in the second half.

LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 58, Tekoa-Oakesdale 24: Jed Zimmer scored 16 points and Darcy Stamper added 10 as the Tigercats (13-1, 9-1) routed the Nighthawks (1-12, 0-10) at Washtucna. Max Mueller had 14 points for Tekoa-Oakesdale.

Nonleague

Glacier 70, Lake City 57: The Wolfpack built a 17-point first-half lead and cruised past the Timberwolves (10-4) in Coeur d’Alene. Riley Moreen led Lake City with 17 points and six rebounds.

Kettle Falls 60, Republic 41: The Bulldogs (6-7) held the Tigers (6-6) to one field goal in the second half and Kettle Falls won in Republic. Connor McKern tallied a game-high 19 points for Kettle Falls. The Tigers were led by Garrett Weller’s 14 points.
