Police arrested registered sex offender Trevor L. Franklin, 22, today on a warrant stemming from a Jan. 8 incident in which they say he broke into an apartment and took his clothes off.
Franklin was released from jail Monday after Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office didn’t file charges against him within the mandatory 72-hour window because Spokane police hadn’t given prosecutors the required reports. Police said Franklin broke into a Browne’s Addition apartment, took off his clothes and ransacked it.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant today for residential burglary stemming from that incident, according to a news release.
Members of the Patrol Anti Crime Team arrested Franklin without incident at a residence near 1900 E. Joseph, the release said.
Police say Franklin was not the man captured on security cameras trying to enter homes on the South Hill with his pants pulled down. Police believe the two incidents are unrelated and the South Hill incident was a prank.
