Burnham, Lancers pull off big upset
Match Burnham led three players in double figures with 20 points and Liberty upset Lind-Ritzville/Sprague – ranked second in the state in the latest Associated Press poll – 63-51 in a Northeast 2B League game Tuesday night in Liberty.
The Lancers (8-8, 4-6) opened the game on a 19-6 run. Ryan Thayer scored 16 points and Zack Kunkel added 14 for Liberty.
The Lancers held a 41-22 advantage in rebounds.
Dylan Hartz scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Broncos (14-2, 8-2).

St. George’s 59, Davenport 42: Dexter Sienko made 14 of 17 shots and finished with 32 points as the Dragons (15-1, 10-0) beat the host Gorillas (7-9, 2-8). Mark Kenney added 10 points for St. George’s. Davenport was led by Josh Likkel and Connor Van Pevenage, who combined for 27 points.
Colfax 49, Reardan 35: Brandon Gfeller hit three 3-pointers and scored 20 points to guide the Bulldogs (12-4, 7-3) past the host Indians (5-11, 3-7). Nick Brockman hit all six of his free throws and finished with 22 points for Reardan.
Northwest Christian 66, Springdale 23: Jonathan Morris scored 14 points and Jeremiah Sander added 12 points and 15 rebounds to guide the Crusaders (12-4, 7-3) to a rout over the visiting Chargers (0-16, 0-10). Northwest Christian outscored Springdale 18-3 in the third quarter and led by 33 heading into the fourth. The Chargers’ were led by Kyle Cummings’ eight points.
Great Northern
Pullman 60, East Valley 46: Race Martin scored 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting and added eight rebounds and six steals as the Greyhounds (13-1, 5-0) gained control in the second half and beat the visiting Knights (7-7, 3-3). Corey Langerveld had 16 points and David Ungerer added 11 for Pullman.
Clarkston 65, West Valley 51: Trevor Sperry made all six of his free-throw attempts and finished with 22 points as the Bantams (9-4, 3-2) extended their lead in the third quarter and beat the host Eagles (9-4, 2-3). Clarkston outscored West Valley 22-9 in the third to take a 15-point lead into the final quarter. Jake Love led three Eagles in double figures with 19 points.
Colville 51, Deer Park 36: Matt Hubbard scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Indians (6-7, 2-3) built a comfortable first-half lead and eased past the host Stags (4-9, 0-5). Reese Ferguson led Deer Park with 11 points.
Northeast A
Lakeside 62, Newport 40: Coleton Collins made all nine of his free-throw attempts and finished with 21 points and seven rebounds as the Eagles (6-9, 5-2) dominated the second half in a win over the visiting Grizzlies (5-10, 2-5). Conner Moffatt scored 13 points and Cody Watkins grabbed nine rebounds for Lakeside, which outscored Newport 35-14 after halftime. Jeron Konkright tallied a team-high 20 points for Newport.
Medical Lake 41, Riverside 30: Seth Hansen scored 11 points and Austin Garza added eight points, five assists, five rebounds and four steals as the Cardinals (9-5, 6-1) beat the visiting Rams (4-10, 2-5). Medical Lake forced 21 Riverside turnovers. The Rams were led by Tyler Axtell’s 10 points.
Chewelah 65, Kettle Falls 23: Lars Berger had 15 points, 11 rebounds and five steals as the Cougars (11-3, 7-0) routed the visiting Bulldogs (6-8, 1-6). Derek Smith and Deylin Peone added 12 points apiece for Chewelah, which built a 32-7 halftime lead. Kettle Falls was led by Conner McKern’s nine points.
Nonleague
Coeur d’Alene 63, Lakeland 50: Colby Daniels scored 14 points and Jared Moore added 11 as the Vikings (9-4) topped the visiting Hawks (6-7). Tyrel Derrick and Matt Horne made three 3-pointers apiece and finished with a combined 35 points to lead Lakeland.
Priest River 58, Freeman 45: Cam Riley scored 15 of his game-high 19 points in the second half and the Spartans (6-7) topped the visiting Scotties (1-13). Dalton Sommer added 12 points and Jimmy Koch chipped in nine points and seven rebounds for Priest River, which outscored Freeman 21-8 in the third quarter to take a 19-point lead into the fourth. Jack Paukert tallied a team-high 11 points for the Scotties.
Wilbur-Creston 51, Republic 41: Dorian Jaeger scored 12 points as the Wildcats (8-7) stormed back in the second half and beat the visiting Tigers (6-7). Wilbur-Creston outscored Republic 30-12 in the second half to erase an eight-point halftime deficit. Nick Densley, Trystan Rosman and Colton Magers each added nine points for the Wildcats. The Tigers were led by Saxon Brown’s 13 points.
Kamiah 61, Colton 36: Matt Munch erupted for 32 points as the Kubs dominated from the get-go in a win over the host Wildcats. Eric Hill added 24 points for Kamiah, which outscored Colton 20-5 in the first quarter. The Wildcats were led by Jake Straughan’s 18 points.
Northport 48, St. Michael’s 40: Jeremiah Johnson scored 16 points and the Mustangs (8-5) held on late to beat the host Warriors (1-13). Gabe Durazo scored 15 of his game-high 22 points for the Warriors, who rallied in the fourth but fell short.
Coeur d’Alene Charter 71, Kootenai 41: Christian Pedersen scored 29 points and Bryan Smith added 22 as the Panthers (7-5) dumped the Warriors (5-5) in Harrison. Coeur d’Alene Charter outscored Kootenai 22-9 in the second quarter to take a 21-point lead into halftime. Jake Pfeiffer tallied a team-high 17 points for Kootenai.
