Two more arrests in Saturday gang-related shooting

Two men injured in a gang-related shooting Saturday have been arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary. Police said Apolonio J.J. Saldana, 27, and Tony I. Figueroa, 35, and another male assaulted a man as he entered an apartment at 220 E. Wellesley Ave. around 3 a.m. Saturday. They also entered a house around 4 a.m. at 311 E. Liberty Ave. and took several belongings from another man, according to a Spokane Police Department news release. Officers responded to a reported shooting at the home on Liberty at 4:05 a.m. and found Saldana in one of the bedrooms. Figueroa was found on a front porch of a home nearby. Both were suffering from gunshot wounds. A third victim was found near Liberty and Addison suffering from blunt force trauma to the head. Both Saldana and Figueroa are under guard at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and will be transported to jail when they are released from medical care, the release said. Two other men have been arrested as part of this case. Phillip J. Ruiz, 23, appeared in court on Monday on a first-degree assault charge in this incident and is being held on a $200,000 bond. Daniel J. Dublin, 33, appeared in court Tuesday on the same charge and is being held on a $350,000 bond.
