Obituary: Robertson, Timothy Louis

Age 52

ROBERTSON, Timothy Louis (Age 52) Surrounded by family and dear friends Tim Robertson found healing from the ravages of brain cancer as he entered his new life promised by his loving Heavenly Father.

Born in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, the youngest child of the Rev.

John and Mary Robertson, Tim spent his growing up years in Iowa, New Jersey and Carthage, MO.

He graduated from Moon Valley High School in Phoenix, AZ in 1978 and Whitworth College (University) in 1984.

At the age of nine Tim chose to commit his life to Jesus and has continued to “work out his salvation” through the Church.

He and his family have been an integral part of the faith community at Knox Presbyterian Church since 1984.

Music was an important part of Tim’s life.

With his trombone he marched with his high school band in the Philadelphia Bicentennial Parade in 1976.

He also played on two Continental Singers summer tours.

While volunteering at Ghost Ranch Conference Center in New Mexico Tim met Lois Anderson.

They were married in Springfield, IL on June 16, 1984 and have made their home in Spokane since that time.

Two children, Kristen and Nicholas, have richly blessed their home.

Tim was employed at Eastern Washington as an Academic Advisor in the College of Science, Health and Engineering.

Previously he had served in the Adult Education program at Whitworth University as well as nine years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with Vista Consulting Services.

An adventurous spirit spurred Tim’s desire for travel, for camping, and for new and engaging experiences.

Tim took his wife and young daughter to Yellowstone National Park for two summers (1987 and 1988) while he was a park ranger and to Alaska (1990) where he worked as a tour bus driver for a summer.

He and his family also took many trips to places in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.

Tim’s greatest joy was to be among family and friends, especially when sitting on his back patio during summer evenings.

A Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning, January 20, at 10:30 AM followed by a luncheon for all who are in attendance.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Knox Presbyterian Church, the Spokane Guilds’ School, or the Union Gospel Mission.
