Obituary: Rich, Beverly Jane (Ramsey)

Age 85

RICH, Beverly Jane (Ramsey) Our beautiful and beloved mother and grandmother went to her Heavenly Father on January 17, 2013, with her daughter Kathleen and son-in-law Ken at her side.

She was born on September 21, 1927 in Spokane, WA to James and Edith Ramsey.

She married the love of her life Jack W. Rich, a WWII Navy veteran on August 7, 1948.

They were married 59 years when Jack passed away in 2008.

A graduate of Central Valley High School and Kinman Business University, she was employed at Standard Lumber Co and then worked for Dr. Richard Jordan.

In 1979 she and Jack Co-managed their 7-11 franchise store at Sprague and Evergreen for 10 years.

Then in 1988 she founded and published Horse Previews magazine.

Blessed with daughters Kathleen and Valerie they led a full and active life of 4-H, horse shows, gardening, traveling, camping, fishing and family fun.

She loved to watch her grandchildren’s sporting events.

She had a strong faith and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

There she was active in quilters and LWML.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Violet Blake and Viola Clark.

She is survived by daughters Kathleen Stout (Ken), Spokane, WA and Valerie Fremlin (Keith), Petersburg, AK, five grandchildren, Jason and Wesley Stout, Kevin, Elgin and Ursula Fremlin, four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family expresses great appreciation to the staff at Churchill’s Adult Care home for their compassionate and loving care.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3606 S. Schafer Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
