Obituary: Vinson, O’Neil

VINSON, O’Neil Born on August 21, 1931 to Fannie B. Vinson and Daniel P. Vinson of Pendleton, North Carolina.

O’Neil was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Catherine D. Vinson in 2001, brothers Daniel, William, Stanford, and sister Doris.

He is survived by his three adopted children; Carmen D. Haythorne, Darrell J. Vinson, and David L. Vinson, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

O’Neil had been a resident of Tumwater since 1997 and was formerly from Spokane, Washington.

Following his graduation from Booker T. Washington High School, O’Neil entered the United States Air Force where he served for 21 years retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant.

He served tours of duty in Korea, Greenland, Germany, Vietnam, and North Africa.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 26th beginning at 1pm at Olympia First Baptist Church, 904 Washington St.

SE, Olympia, WA 98507.

At his request there will not be a graveside service.
