Returned Butler shooting guard Rotnei Clarke has returned to practice and could play Saturday against Temple. The ninth-ranked Bulldogs have been without their leading scorer since he sustained a severely sprained neck after crashing head-first into a padded basket support Jan. 12 at Dayton. Clarke is fifth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring with 16.3 points.

Hired Florida State offensive coordinator James Coley has been hired for the same job at archrival Miami. The 39-year-old Coley is the sixth Seminole assistant leaving Jimbo Fisher’s staff since the end of the season along with the school’s football publicist. • New Mexico State football coach DeWayne Walker has stepped down after four losing seasons to take a job as an assistant with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Athletics director McKinley Boston announced that Walker is leaving to become defensive backs coach for the NFL team.

Signed Driver Kyle Busch has signed a long-term extension with Joe Gibbs Racing to keep driving the No. 18 Toyota Camry.

• Free-agent outfielder Nyjer Morgan has signed with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars of Japan’s Central League. The baseball team says the 32-year-old Morgan will join the BayStars on a one-year-deal worth $1.6 million.

Closed No charges will be brought against two Texas football players investigated after a reported sexual assault at a San Antonio hotel. Bexar County First Assistant District Attorney Cliff Herberg said charges will not be filed against quarterback Case McCoy and linebacker Jordan Hicks. The San Antonio Express-News reports police said the investigation is closed.

Named Defender Mike Petke, who leads the New York Red Bulls in games played, was named coach of the soccer club.
