“Jerry” (Age 72) Jerry passed away peacefully on January 21, 2013 at the age of 72 in Spokane, Washington.
He was born in Madera, California on July 1, 1940.
Jerry graduated from High School in Madera, California.
After High School he attended college for one year before deciding to join the United States Air Force where he made his career.
He spent his time in service in New Mexico, Japan, Montana and then Spokane where he made his home.
Jerry retired from the Air Force at Fairchild in 1979 and shortly after gained a position as a government service employee at Fairchild until he retired in 2005.
In 1961, during one of his tours in Japan, Jerry met and fell in love with the love of his life, Midori Tanaka.
He and Midori were married 51 years.
Jerry devoted his life to be the best husband, father, grandfather and friend that he could be.
Some of Jerry’s favorite past times were fishing, golf and square dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents Orin & Irene Gaskin and his sister Patricia Parson.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Midori, his two sons Jeff (Kim) and Edward, three grandchildren, Anthony Somday, Kristi Somday and Jenna Gaskin, his brother Orin Jr and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for close friends and family will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013, at Spokane Cremation & Funeral Service, 2832 N. Ruby, Spokane, Wa 99207.
Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA.
