Obituary: Gibson, Marlene K.

Age 71

GIBSON, Marlene K. (Age 71) Marlene was born on July 9, 1941 in Glasgow, MT to Peter and Burl Logan-Garberg.

She passed away on January 23, 2013 in Spokane, WA.

Marlene attended North Central High School, graduating in 1959.

On August 1, 1959 she married her high school sweetheart Jack Lee Gibson.

Marlene spent 59 years in Spokane and worked at St. Luke’s, The Crescent, and Maplewood Gardens.

Marlene was a Christian and enjoyed volunteering at Sacred Heart.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, dogs (Abby Mae), birds, planting flowers, camping at Reeder Bay, Priest Lake, ID and relaxing at Waitt’s Lake with family and friends.

She was the best hockey mom and loved her hockey friends.

Marlene also loved to spend time and make memories with her grandchildren and her family.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Jack Gibson; daughter Julie Furgison and her husband Bill of Albuquerque, NM; son James Gibson and his wife Bridgett of Spokane, WA; grandchildren Jacqueline and Kevin Sebesta of Albuquerque, NM, Adam and Krystalyn Furgison of Las Cruces, NM, and Jackson Gibson of Spokane; siblings Donna Gillogly, Ronnie Garberg, Gary Garberg, and Darla Sawyer and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Burl Garberg.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Sunset Chapel inside Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 11:30AM.
