In brief: Spokane seeking input for growth, development plan

SPOKANE – The city is seeking input from citizens for a review and update of its comprehensive plan, which provides guidance on all aspects of the city’s growth and development. Three public meetings are scheduled in February featuring presentations and background information on the comprehensive plan and the review process:

• Council District 1 meeting is on Feb. 27 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Northeast Youth Center, 3004 E. Queen Ave.

• Council District 2 meeting is on Feb. 11 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at ESD 101, 4202 S. Regal St.

• Council District 3 meeting is on Feb. 19 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Shadle Public Library, 2111 W. Wellesley Ave.

Join New Horizons Orchestra for adults

SPOKANE – New Horizons Orchestra of Spokane offers an opportunity for adult music students, who are at the beginning through advanced level of playing an instrument, to participate in an orchestra.

Each participant learns a wind, string or percussion instrument in a full orchestra setting.

The orchestra meets on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Names Music Center, 3910 W. Custer Drive, on the campus of Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute. Call: (509) 326-9516.
