Indians rally to top Dust Devils

The Spokesman-Review
PASCO – The Spokane Indians scored early and late to rally for a 6-4 Northwest League victory over the Tri-City Dust Devils on Tuesday night. The Indians (9-10) wasted little time in getting the scoring started. Chris Garia led off the game with a triple and scored on Alberto Triunfel’s sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead. The Dust Devils (6-13) tied the game in the third inning and took a 4-1 lead with a three-run fifth, but Spokane responded in the sixth. Barrett Serrato’s RBI double and Kevin Torres’ run-scoring single closed the deficit to 4-3. In the eighth, Cam Schiller led off with a single and Janluis Castro followed with a double. Torres drove them both home with a double for a 5-4 lead. After Brandon Garcia struck out and Marcus Green walked, Garia singled to drive in Torres. Ryne Slack (2-0) earned the win with three hitless innings of relief. Michael Zouzalik earned his second save with a scoreless ninth. The three-game series concludes with a 7:15 matchup Wednesday night at Gesa Stadium. The Indians then return home for a five-game homestand against Eugene that starts Thursday at 6:30.
