Obituary: Rutcosky, Roger

Age 79

RUTCOSKY, Roger Born April 21, 1934 in Minneota, Minnesota.

Died June 27, 2013 at North Central Care Center, Spokane, WA.

Roger served in the United States Air Force from June 1955 to November 1958.

He also taught at Big Bend Community College as a Literature Teacher and ran a newspaper “Western Mining News” until he retired in 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Rutcosky, who lives in Spokane Valley; his daughter, Renita Deane, of Spokane; son, Bill Rutcosky, of Olympia; and stepdaughter, Natalie Jaeger, and her husband, Jesse Jaeger, of Lynn, MA.

He leaves behind four grandchildren, Brandon Deane, Hunter Deane, Lorn Jaeger and Mary Jaeger.

Roger was preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Gladys Rutcosky, as well as brothers, Stanley Jr. “Buckshot” Rutcosky and Gary Rutcosky.

Roger enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, bowling, working in the yard and having fun with his grandkids.

He even went to Disneyland with his grandson, Hunter, and wife, Charlene, at 70 years old for the first time!

A Memorial Service and reception will be held at 2pm on Friday, July 5 at Thornhill Valley Chapel: 1400 South Pines Rd., Spokane Valley.
