Prime-time plans for Fox News’ Kelly

From Wire Reports

Megyn Kelly is moving to prime time. The longtime anchor of the popular Fox News daytime show “America Live” will get an evening show when she returns from maternity leave, the network said.

What Fox News didn’t say is what Kelly’s show will be and where it will air. Fox News has long-term deals in place with its other prime-time stars, including Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity.

There has been speculation that Kelly may take the slot on Fox News that is currently held by Greta Van Susteren. However, on Tuesday Van Susteren said on her blog she has a long-term contract “and it is for a show in ‘prime time.’ ”

Kelly’s presence on Fox News has moved beyond daytime over the past few years. She frequently appears on O’Reilly’s show and co-anchored the network’s 2012 election coverage, where she famously took Karl Rove to task for criticizing the network’s decision to call Ohio for President Barack Obama.

Collector selling images of Kate Moss

Few people have been photographed more often than Kate Moss, and some of the most famous images of the supermodel are going under the hammer at a Christie’s auction this fall.

The sale, announced today, includes a shot of Moss encased in bronze glitter by Allen Jones and images by well-known photographers including Annie Leibovitz, Bruce Weber, Mario Testino, Sam Taylor-Wood and Irving Penn.

The works, collectively valued at about $1.5 million, have been assembled by German collector Gert Elfering. He called Moss a “living icon.”

Hallmark won’t renew Osmond’s show

Hallmark Channel and Marie Osmond are parting ways. In a statement Tuesday, the TV channel said it won’t renew Osmond’s talk show, “Marie,” for a second season.

The show’s producer and distributor, Associated Television International, said that “Marie” was going into syndication as originally intended. A fall 2014 launch is planned, the company said.

Hallmark said it wants to go in a different direction in daytime: It’s decided that so-called lifestyle shows offering how-to tips are a better option on TV and online.

Osmond will find a competitive field, which currently includes veteran Ellen DeGeneres and newcomers Katie Couric and Steve Harvey. New and repeat episodes of “Marie” will air on Hallmark through September.

Jazz musician Pete Fountain is 83. Actor Michael Cole (“The Mod Squad”) is 68. Talk show host Montel Williams is 57. Actor Tom Cruise is 51. Actress-singer Audra McDonald is 43. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is 42.
