Obituary: Kirk, Theodora Anne (Schuster) “Teddy”

Age 81

KIRK, Theodora Anne (Schuster) “Teddy” August 20, 1931 - July 3, 2013 Teddy Kirk of Coulee City, WA, was one of seven children, born August 20th, 1931 at her grandmother’s home in St. John, WA, to Ted and Margaret F. (Davis) Schuster.

She entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on July, 3, 2013, while loved ones were gathered around her.

Teddy was raised on a farm and knew the value of hard work.

She was very resourceful and approached her work with a sense of joy and vigor, enjoying the fruits of her labor while always sharing with those around her.

She passed on these steadfast qualities to her three children, Carol, Max and Steve who will miss her greatly.

She was a loving mother to her children and grandchildren, as well as a wonderful and faithful wife to her husband of 63 years.

She leaves behind her husband, Bob Kirk; daughter, Carol (Randy) Ishihara; sons, Max (Evelyn) Kirk and Steve (Colleen) Kirk; eight grandchildren: Anna, Matthew, Becky, Adelle, Adrienne, Meredith and Alex, and eight great-grandchildren; siblings, cousins, friends, the distinguished artists in her art group, and her loyal four legged friend, Judee.

She loved in an encompassing way that made anyone who knew her feel uniquely special.

Her faith was constant and her hope in the Lord pure, which was reflected in her artwork, her paintings of the world around her; like the way a breeze ripples through the branches of a weeping willow, or the stillness of a cottage underneath a layer of fresh snow.

She loved gardening, and would often mention the beautiful apple harvest that season, or the variety of colors in the Hollyhock blooms that year.

Her home always smelled of apple pie or fresh baked bread, crisp linen, organized and fresh.

She will remain in our hearts all of our lives and was a gift to us from our Father.

He now has her home and until He comes for us all, we will say, thank you Father, for giving us our beloved Teddy, we wait for Your perfect timing to be reunited with her again!

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8, at the Reardan United Methodist Church.

A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall.

Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
