Obituary: Pettinger, Dee

PETTINGER, Dee Dee Ann Pettinger was born in Oakdale, CA to Donald and Audrey Pettinger on April 27, 1941.

Dee graduated early from Oakdale High School in 1958 and later attended Modesto Junior College, where she studied design.

She passed away on July 2nd 2013.

Dee Ann was a friendly outgoing cheerful woman with contagious enthusiasm.

She lived in many places including Los Angeles, Chicago, Modesto, CA, Prescott, AZ, and Spokane.

She raised her children in Grand Junction and Durango, CO. Dee loved to vacation with her family, and often visited Disneyland, Disney World and national parks Mesa Verde and the Redwood Forest.

She loved to attend shows such as Les Miserables, Disney on Ice, and the Blue Man Group.

She enjoyed decorating, antiquing and thrift shopping, and was also an avid fan of NASCAR, the Denver Broncos, reality TV, Star Trek and Star Wars.

Dee was known for her flamboyant decor; her house and wardrobe were filled with buffalos and pink flamingos.

She loved animals of all sorts including horses, chickens, pigeons, rabbits, and especially her cherished little dogs Rascal and Griswold.

Dee volunteered at the Spokane County Sheriff’s Department S.C.O.P.E.

where she was known for her enthusiasm and excellent service.

She was also very active with Rabbitron.com, a local rabbit care education organization.

Dee Ann Pettinger is survived by her brothers and their spouses Mike and Leslie Pettinger of Modesto CA.

; Pete and Gayle Pettinger of Spokane WA.

; Dee’s daughter Tracy Martin and son-in-law Max Martin reside in Spokane, WA.

; her son Todd Tucker and daughter-in-law Anna Tucker; and grandchildren Eva, Quinn, and Quaid Tucker of De Soto, KS.

; her nephews Danny Pettinger of Modesto CA.

and Phil Pettinger of Spokane; and her niece Sandy Brown of Rifle, CO. An informal Celebration of Life get-together will be held on Tuesday, July 9th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 16412 West Deno Road, in Medical Lake.
