Police seeking information in Williams homicide

Spokane police investigators are seeking information about a distinctive orange sleeping bag found near the scene of a homicide that occurred more than a year ago.

The body of 20-year-old Kala Williams was found on May 13, 2012, in a wooded area near West 14th Avenue and South Lindeke Street in southwest Spokane. Near the body, detectives found an orange sleeping bag with a plaid-orange interior.

Williams was reported missing April 2, 2012, and her body was found more than a month later.

Anyone with information about the sleeping bag is asked to call Det. Mark Burbridge at (509) 625-4262. People who pass along information can remain anonymous, spokeswoman Monique Cotton said in a news release.
