Indians roll over Volcanoes

KEIZER, Ore. – Chris Garia had three hits and scored three runs to help propel the Spokane Indians to an 8-4 victory over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in Northwest League baseball action on Sunday. The win over the South Divison-leading Volcanoes (19-11) gives Spokane (16-14) a .500 road record at 7-7. The Indians took the lead two batters into the game and never trailed. Garia led off the first with a single and scored on a double by Alberto Triunfel. Ryan Cordell followed with a single to move Triunfel to third and Kevin Torres singled to put the Indians up 2-0. Spokane took control with a three-run fourth. Joe Jackson reached first on an error and Cam Schiller doubled him to third base. Janluis Castro stroked a two-run single. Garia reached on a fielder’s choice, stole second and third and scored on a wild pitch for a 5-1 lead.
