Picnic for the Pond - Fundraiser featuring O’Doherty’s Barbecue, music from Big Red Barn Band, Verne Windham from KPBX as master of ceremonies, a silent auction and lemonade from neighborhood kids. This family event will raise money and awareness to improve the water quality and landscaping of Mirror Pond, popularly called the duck pond. Mozart on a Summer’s Eve - Tuesday-Wednesday, 23rd annual event presented by Connoisseur Concerts, directed by Verne Windham, with soprano Susan Windham and cellist Zuill Bailey. The concert theme is “Song To The Moon,” and includes music of Mozart, Dvorak, Paganini and Chopin. Reservations recommended. Performances 7 p.m. each evening. “Wine, Women and Shoes” Fundraiser - Stylish fundraising celebration includes boutique shopping opportunities with national vendors, fashion show, live and silent auctions, food and winetasting. Muddy Miles Race Obstacle Course - A muddy two-mile course with obstacles and costumes. Steak-Fry and Barbecue Fundraiser - Fifth annual St. Vincent de Paul event to benefit North Idaho’s Family Emergency Programs. A Night in Persia - Solace for the Children will host a themed dinner and auction to raise funds to pay the costs of bringing children from Afghanistan to the North Idaho/Spokane area to receive medical care. Coeur d’Alene Crossing Swim Fundraiser - Second annual 2.4-mile open water swimming event with proceeds to benefit North Idaho College Booster Club, Union Gospel Mission CDA and the Coeur d’Alene Area Swim Team. Swimmers will be transported to the start line at Arrow Point by cruise boat with boarding to begin at 6:30 a.m. The finish line is at the Hagadone Event Center.
