Chattaroy explosion may have been intentionally caused

Two people injured; one in critical condition

From staff reports
An explosion that injured two people at a Chattaroy home on Wednesday may have been intentionally caused, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office reported. Two people — a 51-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman — were injured in the explosion at the home at 3110 E. Chattaroy Road, a news release said. Both were severely burned and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where the man is listed in critical condition. The release did not give the woman’s condition and said she is a possible victim of domestic violence. A family member told deputies that the man and woman are married but have been separated for several months. Sheriff’s detectives, along with Spokane County Fire District 4 and ATF investigators, are conducting a criminal investigation at the scene.
