Johnson inspired many

Yvonne Johnson is a woman of great inspiration to me, as well as many other young people in the theatre community of Spokane. Caring for the future of Civic Theatre, Yvonne made sure youth understood aspects of preparedness and presentation that make up professionalism in the theatre – all with a welcoming smile.

Out of the eight musicals I’ve been involved in these last three years, the musical directed by Johnson still holds No. 1 in my favorites. I had not one complaint working with Johnson since through her I gained knowledge in acting techniques, lifelong friends and a place to call home.

Johnson cares for all her volunteers dearly as if a family. She cares about the art of theatre, educating young and old aspiring artists, benefitting the community and making the Civic Theatre the most it can be. It is for those reasons Johnson is the inspiration for my majoring in theatre management and hopefully becoming an executive artistic director. I can only aspire to be half the businesswoman she is.

I just cannot imagine the Spokane Civic Theatre without Johnson. Please keep Yvonne at the Spokane Civic Theatre, where she belongs.
