Airway Heights standoff ends in surrender

From staff reports

A SWAT standoff in Airway Heights ended in surrender early Saturday morning.

A Washington State Patrol trooper attempted to stop Brandon G. Hagreen shortly after midnight for committing several traffic violations on westbound Interstate 90 near the Altamont exit, according to a news release. Hagreen fled, leading WSP on a high-speed chase that ended with him hiding at his Airway Heights residence, according to the release.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team entered the home, arresting Hagreen without incident, according to the release.

Hagreen had an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence, and was arrested on charges of eluding police, reckless driving, DUI and driving with a revoked license, according to the release.

The Airway Heights Police Department, Spokane International Airport Police and the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office helped WSP respond to the incident, according to the release.
