Hops outlast Indians in 13 innings

HILLSBORO, Ore. – Yogey Perez-Ramos’ run-scoring double off Richard Alvarez (1-2) with no outs in the bottom of the 13th inning lifted the Hillsboro Hops (11-26) to a 6-5 victory over the Spokane Indians (19-18) on Sunday in Northwest League action.

The Indians, who trailed 2-0 at the time, scored all five of their runs in the top of the fourth against Hops starter Aaron Blair.

Kevin Torres led off the fourth with a single to left field. Evan Van Hoosier and Marcus Greene followed with back-to-back singles to load the bases. Barrett Serrato’s sac fly scored Torres. Alberto Triunfel singled home Van Hoosier to knot the score at 2-all and Brandon Garcia drilled a three-run home run to right to give the Indians a 5-2 lead.

Yosbel Gutierrez’s RBI double in the bottom of the ninth off Sam Wolff sent the game into extra innings.
