Leftists would censor Ramirez
When the truth gets too painful, liberals invariably resort to one their favorite tools: censorship. That’s why regional lefties are demanding that the cartoons of Michael Ramirez, a Pulitzer Prize winner, be removed from The Spokesman-Review (“Ramirez sullies S-R,” July 12).
If we’re going to sack cartoonists, let’s start with Clay Bennett, Signe Wilkinson, Nick Anderson and Garry Trudeau, all of whom promote the vile immoral agenda of the Democratic Party and an entity that I choose to call the “Marxist left.”
Advancing censorship even more were the attack letters written by Katie Curran (July 9) and Mary Nabers (July 12). They used threats, intimidation and vitriol to try and silence John Haber (July 2). Haber had stated, correctly, that the Obama administration is the most dangerous administration in American history and that a certain local, left-wing letter writer was “ignorant.” Nabers also churns out propaganda for that ultra-powerful enemy of freedom: the anti-gun lobby (May 9).
