Obituary: Hare, Fred Clifford
Age 92
He maintained dual citizenship.
Fourth born of a family of (7) brothers and (1) sister.
Completed grade school and high school levels in Sheridan, Oregon.
He played sports: football, basketball, and baseball.
He moved to Spokane with the family and went to Gonzaga University.
He played football as a freshman on the last Gonzaga football team (1941).
He enlisted into the Air Force in 1943 and was stationed in Texas for flight training where he met his wife Josephine Bell.
After duties as a pilot of the B-24 Theater in Japan, he returned home and married Josephine in November of 1946.
He continued his education at Gonzaga University and graduated in 1950 in business.
He continued his flying with the Air National Guard at Geiger Field for 13 years.
He worked for American Machinery Co. and Rendall Tractor as a parts manager until retirement.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he participated in many fund raisers.
He is survived by his son Kyle; his brother Francis; his grandsons, Brendan (Melisa), Gavin (Meagan), and Aarin (Michelle); his great-grandsons, Callahan (Gavin and Meagan) and Griffin (Brendan and Melisa); and his great-granddaughters, Avery and Cael (Brendan and Melisa).
He loved and enjoyed being with the grandsons and their families.
He is preceded in death by his wife Josephine, his parents Jesse and Amelia, his brothers Harlan, Ray, Cecil, Vernon, Ron, Bill, and his sister Lucille.
Memorial Service will be Friday, July 26, 2013 at 10:00 am at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home.
