Spokane sheriff’s deputies tase alleged burglar

From staff reports
A 28-year-old man suspected of burglarizing several homes in Spokane Valley is in the hospital after sheriff’s deputies tased him early Tuesday morning. Jason Jones allegedly broke into two homes on East Alki Road shortly before 3 a.m. and attempted to break into another on Long Road and Olive Lane. A Spokane County sheriff’s deputy and his police dog found Jones breaking into the third home, a news release said. Jones refused to comply with the deputy, even when the police dog tried to subdue him, the release said. The deputy tased Jones and he was taken into custody. Jones was transported to the hospital in a state of “excited delirium,” according to the news release. Once he’s treated, he’ll be booked into Spokane County Jail on three charges of residential burglary, malicious mischief and resisting arrest.
