From staff reports
The Spokane County Medical Examiner identified Keith M. Barber, 50, as the male victim in Monday’s mobile home fire. Barber and his fiancée, who has not been identified, died shortly after midnight Monday morning in their home at the Cascade Mobile Home Community. The mobile home at 2311 W. 16th Ave. burned down within minutes. Spokane police is investigating the fire as a murder-suicide, according to a news release. Police indicated a gun was found at the home and the fire may not have caused the death. The homicide suspect, who police have not identified, lit the fire using lighter fluid before they committed suicide, police said. There is no reason to believe the suspect is still at large. Neighbors said the couple’s wedding was to have been held Thursday.
UPDATE: Information about the fire’s cause added.
