Obituary: Kinkade, Gerald Loyd

KINKADE, Gerald Loyd June 5, 1926 ~ July 17, 2013 Born the eighth of nine children in Henry, SD.

Jerry moved with his parents to Wenatchee, WA where he attended high school.

He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944, serving in the South Pacific.

While on a trip to California he met his future bride.

They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.

The couple lived in San Lorenzo, CA where Jerry worked as a letter carrier for 38 years.

The couple moved to Spokane, WA last August.

Jerry loved playing sports including softball, golf and hiking.

He also loved traveling.

He was a long time member of The Norseman’s Federation, The Sons of Norway, The Contra Costa Hills Hiking Club, Corbin Senior Center and a charter member of the Hayward Adult School Memory Academy.

Jerry dearly loved his family and is survived by his wife Pauline, daughter Vicki (Don) Santos, son Randy (Sharon) Kinkade, daughter Kristi (Tom) Kinkade-Schall.

He enjoyed time with his grandchildren: Lexi, Becah and Josh and his four great-grandchildren: Joel, Patton, Henry and Nora and many nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by all his siblings.

We all have many years of wonderful memories to hold and cherish.

Memorial service July 26, 1:30pm.

Rockwood Retirement Community, South Hill at: The Ridge - Social Hall.
